Photos from the Classroom

In keeping with a tradition of sorts, I am posting classroom photos of student work.  Sometimes a picture of a top I have completed will also be shown.

Enjoy!

Roxanne's "Fruit and Veggie" tablerunner, above and below.

Roxanne's tablerunner in blues, a gift for a lucky relative !

Sharon's log cabin top is her first quilt.  Didn't she do a great job!

Cindy's "X's and O's" was recently completed in a Monday night open sew. Another quilt checked off her UFO list.

My blue and yellow "Bricks and Stepping Stones", a Bonnie Hunter pattern, made much bigger, of course!

That's all for tonight.
Until next time...

What's been happening in the Classroom?

I am sure you have been asking this very question! So here is the answer!

Marie finished her top today.

I finished this top this afternoon.  It is from two jelly rolls, one of color and the other of whites.

Yesterday afternoon I finished the twelve and the six inch pumpkin blocks. The pattern is found in the "Vintage Farm Girl" book by Lori Holt.

Three more blocks have been finished for "Calico Jewels". Only six more of these to go!

And just in case I did not post this finished quilt.  The binding is now completed on this one.

That's it for today!

Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

Off to Market and Other Finishes

I can finally publish this post. Some things are embargoed for awhile sometimes.

A few items were completed for Falł Market using the the line "Toy Chest Conversationals" from the Washington Street division of P and B Textiles.

Simply put, they are the following.

A simple nine block wallhanging, using a modified Ćhurn Dash pattern.  (Quilt pattern available shortly)

Up close, hopefully showing the wonderful ABC quilting pattern that was used.

An apron with ties and pockets in the red band.

A small clutch, one side

The other side

And my second favorite! ( the quilt is the first), a 12 x 16 rectangle pillow.  (Pattern also available in the near future).

The back of the pillow with a flap style enclosure.
This allow you to change your pillow coverings for laundering or on a whim!

The suede flannels "Trip Around the World" that uses most of the line, also from P and B Textiles.

And finally from the UFO Stash.  I cannot remember the pattern as I write this but I believe it is one of the Villa Rosa patterns.  I will check it out and let you know later.

Weather update!

October 12 and temps in the seventies.  A slight breeze but I still have on a tank top.
This is today's update for Seasons on the Deck.

I will take today's weather any time!

And for the view of the pond...

What pond?
We have a small stream going by at the moment.  It is supposed to go down even more before the end of October.  So keep checking back to see what it looks like at the end of the month.

Have a great day!

Updated Calendar and current project progress

Click on the Calendar tab to see the October calendar and the activities I am involved with at the classroom.

Hope to see you at one of the Open Sews!

I am finishing up some leader and ender projects these days.

Idaho Square Dance is a Bonnie Hunter pattern from her Addicted to Scraps column in the May/June issue of Quiltmaker.

And a bowl of inch and a half squares to use to make four patches.

And speaking of Quiltmaker, remember these fabrics?

Look for them and the projects I made in the P & B ad in the November/December issue of Quiltmaker magazine.  The line is called "Soft Dreams" and hopefully will be available in a quilt shop near you and me sometimes in the future.

Well back to work on more projects.

Happy Saturday everyone!
