Blocks of the Month Programs

At Island Creations by Louise we have been introducing Block of the Month Programs.

We usually cut the full kit for you!

I know some may feel that can be pricey, but if you have the full kit, you can work at your own pace.

Just my thoughts.

Some of the kits we currently have ready for you to start your adventure are listed right below.

Later on we will have the new kits that will be coming in shortly.

And finally we have the Banner of the Month Club kit for 2024 that we are taking pre-orders for at this time.

THIS BLOCK  OF THE MONTH IS NOW COMPLETE

Perfect for batiks, solids, blenders, or small prints. Packaged in a large bag, the pages can be easily separated for monthly handouts if desired. The Mini Twister tool by Twister Sisters is required to create the easy pinwheels by simply sewing squares together! Small traditionally pieced blocks made with squares and rectangles are placed inside the twister blocks to create a fun combination. Requirements for 1/4 to 3/4 yard cuts of 16 fabrics are shown inside the pattern (3 shades each of green, yellow/gold, purple, & red, and 2 shades each of aqua/green & blue), plus background fabric yardage. Choose background color you like best!

Quilt is 81in x 81in. Make as small as 74in x 74in using thinner background border, or enlarge as desired with additional borders.

Whether with a group of friends, your local quilt shop or on your own in the comfort of your own sewing room, this quilt will build week by week and month by month until you have a fabulous woodland wonderland! "Medallion Sampler"

Four amazing medallion block of the month samplers in one book! The unique thing about this book is that it has 4 different covers, one right after the other, simply flip the rings over to see the next cover version and set of materials required for that version. Choose Summer Solids, Christmas Halloween or Scrappy Fig Tree Vintage. Quilt consists of a center medallion and a collection of 6in blocks that go around the outside. Choose your favorite season or your favorite set of solids to create this heirloom in the making. This is definitely one of those projects that looks so much more involved than it is. As we have broken up the blocks into manageable portions and used simple piecing techniques for all of them... even we have been pleasantly surprised at how quickly and easily this quilt has come together! Quilt Size: 72.5in x 72.5in

This sampler is created with our halloween collections for MODA fabrics, ALL HALLOW’S EVE and full color information for the fabrics are given inside the pattern. However, any good grouping of blacks, creams, oranges and grey can be used to make this heirloom project. Pattern has been broken down into 12 monthly installments and can easily be used by a store or friendship grouping for a BOM program. Size 66 x 72

"Stitchery Sampler"

We are so excited to share the Stitchery Sampler with you. For a while now, I have wanted to design a sampler where the quilts blocks themselves felt like embroidery stitches and this is that quilt for me! Some are more "true" to actual stitches and some are just my imagination but the result is a fun sampler where each block uses a slightly different technique, for a slightly different effect. Size: 50" x 60 3/4

It's a Snow Day but UPS still delivers!

It's a Snow Day but UPS still delivers!

Three Boxes came today while I was at home having a snow day!

It is wonderful to have an assistant who likes to drive in the snow!

Scroll down to see what came today.

Two boxes of Moda precuts and fat quarters bundles and see the box on the left?

That box is full of Hoffman Batik precuts - both fat quarter bundles, ten inch squares or “crackers” and “pops” or 2.5 inch strips.

The Moda boxes included fat quarter bundles of their newest batik collection, Mambo Batiks, as well as precuts from the Ruby Star Society and designer Melody Miller’s newest collection called “Curio”.

AND by the way, I am back!

Surgery was three weeks ago and I am healing nicely.

Not fast enough for me - but the team is happy with my progress.

It is nice to be back (except for today - I don't do snow yet!)

So I hope to see you soon!

One More TIme!

Getting Ready for surgery ONE MORE TIME!

February 8 is the date!

In the meantime...

Classes will be scarce during the month of February.

But Open Sew sessions will be available.

Unfortunately, I will not be around much until cleared by my ortho team.

But I will be available by email or text.

Paul and Cindy will continue to take care of the store and the quilts you trust to us to long arm.

I am hoping I will be back as quickly as the last time, but you never know.

So cross your fingers and toes and hope everything goes well so I can re-join you quickly.

Louise, on the island, planning for round two
